Having first defined the term food in previous articles and differentiated the German term "Lebensmittel" from the often synonymously used term "Nahrungsmittel", we will now give a rough overview of the various food groups and subgroups.

Of course, we cannot provide a complete overview of all original and novel foods, but list below the groups relevant to our search for traditional methods of primary production:

    6. Spices

In the following articles, we will go into more detail about the respective groups and subgroups. We start with the basis of all life on earth, water:
